MAME SETTINGS
.:BASIC MAME SETTINGS:.
This menu contains all basic MAME settings for use in GameEx. Since GameEx requires MAME to be installed on your machine to run, you'll have to set some of these options for the program to launch. You can also add some nice features to GameEx by adding art work and screenshots to all your MAME rom sets. Once you select a game from the master list, GameEx will display this additional information on the game page. Use the links in the red boxes to download these extra features.
MAME Path*
This is the directory you keep your MAME .exe in.
Click 'Browse' and point this to mame's root folder.
Example: C:\Emulators\MAME
   
MAME EXE*
This is the actual .exe file itself.
Click 'Browse' and locate your mame.exe file.
Example: C:\Emulators\MAME\mame32.exe
ROM Path(s)*
Tell GameEx where you keep your MAME ROMs.
Click 'Browse' and point this to your ROM directory.
Example: C:\Emulators\MAME\roms
Snap Path
If you keep screenshots of your games, GameEx can display them on the game selection screen.
Click 'Browse' and point this to your MAME Snap path.
Example: C:\Emulators\MAME\snap
Video Snap Path
You can use animated snaps in both .avi or .mng format. GameEx will display these instead of screenshots on the game selection screen.
C lick 'Browse' and point this to your MAME Snap directory.
Example: C:\Emulators\MAME\avi
Flyer Path
If you have scans of the original MAME flyers, GameEx can display these on the game selection screen.
Click 'Browse' and point this to your MAME Flyer Art directory.
Example: C:\Emulators\MAME\flyers
Cabinet Images Path
If you have photos of the actual arcade cabinet, GameEx can display these on the game selection screen.
Click 'Browse' and point this to your MAME Cabinet Art directory.
Example: C:\Emulators\MAME\cabinet
Marquee Path
If you have photos of the cabinet's marquee, GameEx can display these on the game selection screen.
Click 'Browse' and point this to your MAME Marquee directory.
Example: C:\Emulators\MAME\marquee
Panel Path
If you have photos of the cabinet's control panel, GameEx can display these on the game selection screen.
Click 'Browse' and point this to your MAME Control Panel directory.
Example: C:\Emulators\MAME\cpanel
Title Path
If you have title screens from the game, GameEx can display these on the game selection screen.
Click 'Browse' and point this to your MAME Title Screen directory.
Example: C:\Emulators\MAME\titles
Icon Path
If you have icons for your games, GameEx can display these on the game selection screen.
Click 'Browse' and point this to your MAME Icon directory.
Example: C:\Emulators\MAME\snap
Use Bezel
If you have bezel artwork for your MAME games, GameEx can display them during gameplay. This is a feature available to registered users.
To use them, select 'Use Bezel for vertical games' in the scroll-down menu.
Menu Under Games
If you don't want your MAME menu on the front page, you can change that here.
To put your MAME menu in the Emulated Games sub menu, select 'Put Menu under Emulated Games' from the scroll-down menu.
